Every Interdisciplinary Student is required to complete a degree plan and each student must complete their degree plan by the end of their 9th credit hour. No classes are guaranteed to count towards your interdisciplinary studies degree until a degree plan is on file. Therefore, the sooner you can complete a degree plan and form an advisory committee, the better. Click here to download a degree plan

Requirements:

  • The degree plan should include no fewer than 3 separate fields of study with at least 6 hours of credit in each field.
  • No more than 18 hours may be taken under any one course prefix or subject field.
    • No more than 12 hours may be drawn from courses offered by the College of Business or the Department of Counseling. 
  • A total of 30 graduate credit hours are required for graduation. Any undergraduate credit hours (ie prerequisite courses) will not count towards your degree plan. 
  • The Master's of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies requires 12 credit hours of a foreign language. 

Note for Current Students:

If you're a current student changing majors to Interdisciplinary Studies with 9 or more graduate credit hours, you must submit an approved and signed degree plan before enrolling in courses as an Interdisciplinary Studies student.
